Olympic FC wish to confirm Keegan Jelacic has departed the club to sign with Perth Glory ahead of the 2022/23 Izusu Ute A-League Men’s season.

The 19-year-old, who only arrived at Olympic from Brisbane Roar in December last year was a star turn in his short stint at Olympic scoring 10 goals and grabbing nine assists in 12 appearances in all competitions in red and white.

Jelacic is the second Olympian to earn an A-League move in less than 12 months after Jez Lofthouse made the move to Brisbane Roar in September last year.

The attacking midfielder said he couldn’t wait to get started at A-League level and thanked all involved for his time at Olympic.

“Im excited to sign my first pro contract and honoured that they’ve given me this opportunity, i can’t wait to get started,” Jelacic said.

“I’d love to play as much as possible and want to help contribute and play my part to help Perth as much as i can.

“I’d like to thank everyone who made my time at Olympic so enjoyable.

“The environment created by Ben Cahn, the staff and players here is first class and helped take my game to another level.”

Olympic Head Coach Ben Cahn said Jelacic has all the tools required to make his mark in the top flight.

“I’m delighted for Keegan, he’s worked exceptionally hard over the last six months to take his game to another level,” Cahn said.

“He’s got everything needed to succeed in the A-League, he’s got a great family behind him and I’m confident he’ll have a great impact at Perth Glory.

“He’ll certainly be missed at Olympic but we’re very proud of the part we’ve played in his recent growth and we’re all excited to see him go on and achieve great things.”

Jelacic will play his last game at Goodwin Park against Young Roar on Saturday evening (6pm KO).

Olympic would like to thank Jelacic for his contribution during his time in red and white and look forward to seeing one of the countries most exciting youngsters make his mark at A-League level.
