Olympic FC are pleased to confirm the addition of exciting young defender, Faith Stephenson ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland Women’s season.
The 18-year-old full back arrives at Goodwin Park from The Gap, where she was a standout contributor throughout the 2021 campaign.
Despite being just 18, Stephenson already has three years of senior NPL Women’s experience under her belt having played for the QAS and Brisbane Roar NTC sides in 2019 and 2020.
The defender, who won the QAS Player’s Player award in 2020 has also been part of the Queensland based Future Matildas program throughout 2021.
The Samford Rangers junior said she was looking forward to being part of the culture at Olympic.
“Olympic stood out through their drive, determination and hunger to be a contender in the women’s NPL,” Stephenson said.
“Their fighting spirit and team culture was inspiring.”
“I want to be a fierce competitor this season and am looking forward to learning a different philosophy of women’s football through Danny (Byrne),” Stephenson said.
Stephenson joins Brittney Lacek and Lua Suero as the third confirmed new signing to join Danny Byrne’s squad ahead of the 2022 season.
