Olympic Football Club are pleased to confirm the addition of goalkeeper, Chantelle Symes ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland Women’s Season.
The 20-year-old arrives at Goodwin Park from Brisbane Roar where she played during the 2020/21 Liberty A-League Women’s season.
Raised in Sydney, the goalkeeper was involved with Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers, Sydney Olympic and NSW Institute of Sport.
Symes is the fourth player with A-League Women’s experience in the Olympic squad, alongside Natalie Tathem, Allira Toby and Rosie Sutton.
“I decided to join Olympic this year because as soon as I met the girls I instantly felt welcomed,” Symes saud,
I also really respect the passion that our Head Coach, Danny Byrne, has for the women’s game and I feel as though I will be able to grow more as a player this year.
“I also think we’ll be quite competitive in the competition this year, and who doesn’t like winning?”
“I would love to bring home some silverware with the girls and on a personal level, I want to perform to the best of my ability while improving on all areas of my game.
“I want to try and put myself in good light for the upcoming A-League season, as would anyone trying to make it, I will be aiming for another A-:eague contract.
“I’m super excited for the season ahead!”
Symes who will wear the number 21 jersey joins Natalie Tathem, Brittney Lacek, Lua Suero, Faith Stephenson, Christina Amajouyi, Kristi New and Inocent Michael as the eighth new arrival in the Olympic squad ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland season.
