Olympic Football Club is delighted to confirm it’s bolstered it’s attacking stocks with the addition of Westfield W-League Premiership winner, Allira Toby.

The 26-year-old attacker, makes a return to Olympic following stints at Sydney FC, Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United.

Toby won this season’s Westfield W-League Premiership with Sydney and played in Sunday’s narrow Grand Final defeat at the hands of Melbourne Victory.

Arguably Toby’s most notable spell in the top flight came locally with Brisbane Roar, where she was the club’s top scorer in both the 2017/18 & 2019/20 seasons, scoring five goals in each campaign.

Toby also took out the Premiership with the Roar in her first season at the club with her form in front of goal earning her a call up to the Matildas train on squad ahead of the Cup of Nations in 2019.

Toby returns for what will be a second stint at Goodwin Park having previously scored 25 goals in 39 NPL Queensland Women’s appearances for the club.

The forward joins, Lena Daniells, Liz Doherty, Teani Karalouka, Kate Morton & Taleisha Derrick as the sixth player who was part of Olympic’s 2016 NPL Queensland Women’s Grand Final squad to return to the club in it’s comeback season in the state’s top flight.

It was during Toby’s first spell at Olympic that she made her national league breakthrough – earning a contract with Adelaide United for the 2015/16 Westfield W-League season.

As well as having extensive experience in Australia’s top flight, Toby had a brief spell in Portugal with Famalicao in October last year that was cut short amongst the COVID-19 chaos.

Toby, who will wear the number 18 jersey for Olympic comes straight into the squad for tonight’s game against Souths United at Wakerley Park (8:30pm KO).
