Olympic are excited to confirm the addition of Japanese fullback, Taira Yoshimura ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland season.
The 27-year-old who can also operate in midfield arrives at the club after playing in the Japanese lower leagues, most recently with FC Tiamo Hirakata.
Yoshimura was brought to Olympic by the club’s International Director, Kazuya Ito and joins countryman – Takeru Okada at Goodwin Park to fill the club’s second VISA position.
The fullback has already begun training with his new teammates after arriving from Japan a fortnight ago.
Yoshimura, who will wear the number 24 jersey said he is hungry for success at Goodwin Park this season.
“Kazuya spoke highly about Ben (Cahn’s) football and I wanted to be a part of it, a different style to other teams in a professional environment,” Yoshimura said.
“I want to play as big a part as I can to help the team be successful and hopefully contribute with a few goals and assists as well.”
Yoshimura joins Takeru Okada, Zac Kierpal and Keegan Jelacic as the club’s fourth confirmed new recruit ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland season.
Olympic kick off the new campaign at home against Eastern Suburbs on Sunday, February 27.
