Olympic Football Club are delighted to confirm Club Captain, Steve Whyte has re-signed in red and white for the 2021 NPL Queensland season.
The 24-year-old midfielder has made 80 appearances for Olympic, scoring 16 goals and provided a further 20 assists.
Widely regarded as one of the competitions best midfielders, an impressive 2020 campaign saw Whyte named in the NPL Queensland Team of the Season.
Upon signing a new deal, the Olympic skipper said he was delighted to be back for a fourth season at Goodwin Park.
“I had the opportunity to go elsewhere but I couldn’t walk away from these boys and this club, this is my home away from home, this is my family,” Whyte said.
“Obviously, losing the Grand Final hurt so much but with pain comes the strength to come back stronger.
“As a team we want to finish as high as possible and still play the attractive football we did last year. Personally I’ll just keep giving everything I can offer to the team and the club.”
Pre-season is underway for Whyte and his teammates as they gear up for the 2021 NPL Queensland season kick off in March.
