Return to training update

We’re Back!

Yesterday Football Queensland’s COVID Safe Plan was approved by Queensland Government which has allowed the easing of restrictions for clubs.

Things won’t be exactly the same – training will be non-contact and limited to 20 players per third of the field. There are new COVID Safe rules that all players, parents and coaches MUST read before they return to the club. These have been attached to this emails and it’s important that everyone takes the time to read them.

Competition structures and dates are still being worked on with Football Queensland and Football Brisbane. These will be passed on once we have them.

But for now – we can train!

From the 15th June we will continue our full club training schedule as it was before play was suspended.

There have been minor time modifications to include sanitising of equipment after each training session, but you will be notified soon by your coach.

Important Dates for Returning to Training

Monday 8 June

  • NPL & Women’s Capital League

Monday 15 June

  • Full club training resumes

Wednesday 15 July

  • 7 a-side football

Saturday 25 July

  • Little Olympians starts for Term 3 until 12th Sept
  • Little Olympians Term 4 dates are 17th Oct-5th Dec

We require parents from across the club to volunteer to help us ensure COVID Safe procedures are followed. You will hear from us soon about how you can help us keep everyone safe.

Many thanks to Football Queensland for working with Queensland Government to ensure restrictions are practical and manageable for clubs. There’s been a lot of work behind the scenes with clubs, Football Brisbane and Football Queensland all working together for the good of the football community.

We all have a responsibility to keep each other safe, so we support the downloading of the COVID Safe app and annual flu vaccinations.

Regards,
Peter Ioannidis
