Olympic FC midfielder, Daniel Leck says his side are raring to go ahead of their clash against Sunshine Coast Wanderers at Ballinger Park on Sunday afternoon (4pm KO).

The 21-year-old is hitting top form in red and white, bagging a brace in Olympic’s 4-0 win over Capalaba as they returned to NPL Queensland action last weekend adding to his five goals scored in pre-season 2.0.

Olympic head to Buderim aiming for a second win on the bounce in order to maintain their position within the competition’s top four.

Leck said his side were looking to build on their strong start as the season kicks back into full swing.

“I think we put in a really good performance last weekend, we’re looking forward to playing against Sunshine Coast and extending that good run and trying to build some momentum.”

“Since we’ve been back the boys have been working tremendously hard and everyones had a great attitude, no one’s dropped their heads and I think that just shows how strong our group is.

“We’re all here for the right reasons, we want to play for each other, we want to win games and I think with that attitude we will win games and we will do very well this season.”

Better known for his exploits in wide areas, Leck has formed a formidable partnership in the centre of midfield with Club Captain, Steve Whyte.

“Whytie’s a quality player, I think we both compliment each other very well, going forward in the season that partnership is only going to get better, I think there’s exciting things to come,” Leck said.

“I’m really enjoying it, I did play there a bit when I was younger but I’m enjoying being back there now, getting on the ball as much as I can.

“I’m happy to play wherever as long as it means helping the team get three points.”

Sunday’s match will be Olympic’s first ever NPL Queensland clash against the Wanderers.
