Olympic FC Centre Back, Danny Driver says his side are in high spirits ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Moreton Bay United at Goodwin Park (7:30pm KO).
Olympic come into Wednesday’s Round 18 NPL Queensland match up with the Jets off the back of a nine-match unbeaten run including an impressive 3-1 win over Peninsula Power at AJ Kelly Park on Friday night in their last outing.
Driver said his side are taking it one match at a time and are solely focused on picking up three points at Goodwin Park on Wednesday night.
“The team’s in a great place right now, we’re playing with confidence and we approach every game with the same mentality. We’re well prepared for another big game at home tomorrow night,” Driver said.
“Everyone’s on the same page at the moment, we all believe in the process and know the potential the group has.
“The confidence and mood amongst the squad is great, but we know how hard we have to keep working.”
Wednesday’s match will be the second meeting between the sides this season, with Olympic running out 4-0 winners in the reverse fixture at Wolter Park in March.
Previously utilised as a midfielder, Driver has excelled as a centre back post-COVID locking down a spot as a regular in the Olympic eleven.
The 21-year-old said he was thoroughly enjoying being part of an Olympic defence that’s conceded the least goals per game of any side in the league season.
“I’m loving it, my teammates and the coaching staff have made it an easy transition for me and being able to help contribute to putting three points on the board each week is all i’m focused on moving forward,” Driver said.
Olympic will maintain their position level with Lions at the top of the NPL Queensland standings with three points in Wednesday’s clash against Moreton Bay.
