Olympic’s NPL Academy League sides faced off with Eastern Suburbs in hot and humid conditions at Goodwin Park on Sunday morning.

Olympic came away with two wins, a draw and a defeat from Sunday’s action, highlighting the continuous improvement of the Olympic squads after losing three of four in their last meeting with Easts. .

In the U16 match, Olympic were rewarded for their impressive high pressing which forced the opposition into a number of costly errors, coming away with a 4-2 victory.

The U15’s dominated their match with their high possession game style running out 3-1 winners.

Fast, powerful and organised play from the U14’s saw them take an early lead but were denied by a late equaliser to finish with a 1-1 draw and the U13’s were very unlucky to go down 0-1 late in the match despite a skillfull and disciplined performance.

Technical Director, Jay Son was delighted with the performances from all teams.

“Today we played with our Olympic structure across all the age groups and created some great goals and patterns of play.” Son said.

“I applaud all the players on their outstanding effort and thanks to our Olympic parents for watching in the humid weather.”

Next up Olympic face Western Pride at Briggs Road in NPL Queensland Academy League action.
