Olympic Football Club have bolstered their midfield stocks with the addition of Cian Cuba, who signs on for the remainder of the 2022 NPL Queensland season.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder who is also able to operate on either flank arrives at Goodwin Park with a reputation for his ability in one-on-one situations and eye for goal.
Cuba has previously plied his trade at Gold Coast Knights and Gold Coast United scoring eight goals in 39 NPL Queensland appearances.
As a teenager Cuba turned out for the likes of Surfers Paradise Apollo and Mudgeeraba in the Gold Coast Premier League.
The Cuba name is not unfamiliar at Goodwin Park, Cian’s father – Fraser was a first team player for the club in the 1980’s while his cousin Sophia plays for Olympic’s U23 NPL Queensland Women’s side – making her competitive first team debut aged just 15 last season.
Cuba is Olympic’s second confirmed signing of the winter window joining Mitch Nichols on the list of arrivals at Goodwin Park.
Cuba, who has already begun training with his new teammates will wear the number 19 jersey and is available for selection for Saturday’s derby against Brisbane City at CTM Stadium (5:30pm. KO).
