Olympic Football Club are delighted to confirm the addition of American attacking midfielder, Brittney Lacek ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland Women’s season.
The 28-year-old arrives at Goodwin Park after scoring 19 goals for Logan Lightning, winning the club’s golden boot award in an impressive 2021 campaign.
The American enters her fourth season on Australian shores having played for Coomera in 2019 and 2020.
Lacek scored 36 goals across two seasons for the Colts and was crowned Brisbane Women’s Premier League Player of the Year in 2020.
Lacek said she knew Olympic was the right club for her after speaking with Head Coach, Danny Byrne.
“After meeting with Danny (Byrne), I really resonated with his philosophy and view for the upcoming season,” Lacek said.
“He is very passionate about the game and women’s football, we share similar views on what it takes to create a winning culture and to compete in the NPLW.
“I have also heard wonderful things about the club overall, they also got brownie points when I heard they serve some of the best food around!
“I’m looking forward to starting my next chapter at Olympic and to help lift the team up to reach our goals.”
The midfielder added she’s hungry for success at Goodwin Park in 2022.
“My aim for next season is simple: win. The team we are building will be a force to reckon with this season,” Lacek said.
“On a personal level, I have a chip on my shoulder. Last season didn’t meet my standards for my performance.
“After some rest and relaxation time, I’m looking forward to a fresh start and to become a better player and teammate for 2022.”
Lacek is the first confirmed new signing in Danny Byrne’s squad and joins Matalena Daniells, Willow Liukaina, Teani Karalouka and Julia Duffy on the list of announced player’s in Olympic’s 2022 NPL Queensland squad.
