Olympic Football Club’s elite player development foundations have been recognised and endorsed with a Gold Rating for its 2020 Skills Acquisition Phase (SAP) program by Football Queensland.
The Gold Rating is the highest level of attainment for SAP programs for club’s in South East Queensland following a detailed review by Football Queensland.
Football Queensland introduced the SAP Rating Regulations for SAP licensed clubs to assist its clubs to achieve best practice skill development for players, protect SAP Licensee clubs’ investment and create a quality assurance process and compliance in line with the SAP Licence Agreement.
The Gold Rating recognises Olympic’s investment in high quality coaches and mentors, infrastructure, training programs, scholarships and player development pathways.
Olympics SAP program provides fundamental skills development for players aged 9 to 12 years and is the foundation for elevating young footballers into the club’s National Premier Leagues (NPL) junior teams.
Olympic FC Technical Director Joel Smith said it was huge boost for the Clubs youth development programs to be awarded a Gold SAP Rating.
“Having our SAP Youth Academy gaining a Gold rating is fantastic for our club and shows our members that we have in place a quality youth development program for our top tier U9 to U12 players, that delivers a professional standard curriculum with quality, appropriately qualified coaches that are experienced,” Smith said.
“Moving from a Silver rating to a Gold rating is a credit to our hard working coaching team and administrative staff at the club. We are all delighted with FQ’s judgement.”
