Olympic FC are pleased to confirm the signing of winger, Christina Amajouyi ahead of the 2022 NPL Queensland Women’s season.

The 19-year-old arrives at Goodwin Park via the The Gap, where she stood out in a young side, scoring 12 goals across two seasons at Walton Bridge Reserve.

Despite still being a teenager, the pacey attacker already has three seasons of senior NPL Queensland Women’s experience under her belt having played a season at QAS prior to her two years with The Gap.

A citizen of New Zealand, Amajouyi was invited to trial for the NZ U17 National Team in 2017 and was selected into the 2020 NZ Maori Women’s squad, but was unable to travel and participate as a result of COVID restrictions.

Amajouyi, who’s developed a reputation for her speed, technical ability and attacking flair said she couldn’t wait to get going at Goodwin Park.

“I decided to join Olympic because I wanted to be in a team that is driven and had ambition to compete at a high level,” Amajouyi said.

“After speaking with Danny (Byrne) I felt that this was an easy decision for myself as I really admired the team’s work ethic and their winning mentality.

“Their hunger to win games was evident last season as they were promoted back to the NPL.

“My aim for the season is to score plenty of goals and create scoring opportunities to help the team win as many games as possible.”

Amajouyi joins Brittney Lacek, Lua Suero and Faith Stephenson as the fourth confirmed new signing to join Danny Byrne’s squad ahead of the 2022 season.
