Olympic FC climbed into third position on the NPL Queensland ladder courtesy of a 3-0 win over Logan Lightning at Goodwin Park on Sunday night.
A goal from Shannon Brady and a double to Daniel Leck proved decisive as Olympic bagged their seventh win of the 2021 NPL Queensland season.
Olympic opened the scoring in the 39th minute after a darting run from Jean-Phillipe Lasm sliced through Logan’s defence, before a quick interchange of passing lead to a quality first-time finish from Shannon Brady.
Brady and Leck then combined with the latter finding the back of the net on the end of a brilliant team move to double Olympic’s lead in the 67th minute.
Leck rounded out the 3-0 scoreline in the 72nd minute when he fired home his second goal of the match & twelfth in 12 games from a tight angle.
Sunday’s win sees Olympic climb into third position on the NPL Queensland ladder just one game out from the half-way point of the 2021 season.
Speaking post-match, Olympic Head Coach, Ben Cahn said he was delighted with his sides showing in Sunday’s win.
“It was a really good performance, some of the football we played was outstanding.
“We were very resilient and hard working without the ball. Logan are a good side. Rick’s (Coghlan) one of the best coaches in the league and he set them up really well. They came with a plan and they caused us a lot of problems in the first half.
“We’ve put in a lot of good performances in the last ten games or so, we’ve found a bit of a rhythm and some good momentum so we’ll train hard this week and make sure we continue that going in to the weekend.”
Next up Olympic make the trip to Compass Grounds on Saturday night to face Redlands United (7:30pm KO)
