MATCH WRAP

Olympic continued their winning ways on Friday night, taking all 3 points in a fiery 2-1 win over Capalaba FC at Max Haynes Field.

The away side got on the score sheet in a largely dominant first half with a cutback from Shelford Dais finding the feet of Captain Steve Whyte, who placed it first-time in the bottom right corner. An equaliser for Capalaba came late in the first 45’ with a goal headed home from Omar Sadiqi.

The second half saw a straight red card received by Bulldog’s Ferando Perez Rodriguez, allowing Olympic to reinstate their lead with a second goal coming for Whyte in the 71’ minute – mirroring his first goal with a ball sent home from another Dais cross.

Friday’s result sees Olympic jump into third place on the league table with 39 points, a point above fourth spot Sunshine Coast Wanderers and tied on points with Brisbane Roar.
