PREVIEW

Olympic look to continue their promotion push when they take on The Gap in FQPL Women’s action at Walton Bridge Reserve on Saturday afternoon (4pm KO).

Olympic are currently in pole position, three points clear of second place Brisbane City at the top of the league.

Following the competition split Olympic have won all three of their matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding none in the process.

The Gap sit in seventh position, suffering defeat at the hands of Brisbane City and Logan in their two matches following the competition split.

LAST TIME WE MET

Olympic ran out 4-1 winners over The Gap in the reverse fixture at Goodwin Park in July.

Talitha Doro, Allira Toby, Eftie Avraam & Talia Sanders were all on target for Olympic, while the now departed Sofie Persson scored a late consolation for the Gators.

WHAT WAS SAID – Forward: Rosie Sutton

“We’re looking forward to Saturday, I think we’re in a good position at the moment, we’re on top of the table, we just keep want to keep building from here, keep scoring goals and not conceding.

“We’ve got good chemistry on the field, I think it’s showing, we’re obviously very disappointed that we’re in the FQPL at the moment and we feel like we are an NPL team so I think it’s just coming out every week and demonstrating how we feel within ourselves to the rest of the league.

“I think everyone’s contributing well, opposition defences are having trouble shutting down our attack and our defence has been really good, we haven’t been conceding, so that’s always a positive.

“I’m really thankful to the club, because obviously the injury took a lot longer coming back in, which was very disappointing for me, I missed the first half of the season so am just sort of making up for lost time at the moment and I’m enjoying my football.”
