LAST TIME WE MET

Nothing could split the sides when Wanderers and Olympic played out a battling 0-0 draw at Ballinger Park in the first phase of the 2022 NPL Queensland Women’s season in what was the only previous meeting between the two teams.

WHAT WAS SAID – Natalie Tathem: Midfielder

“Travelling to the Sunshine Coast and playing on a difference surface is always a challenge but I feel that the girls are up for a fight after not performing well in our first game of the season.

“We’ve have had two good weeks to regroup and refocus so I feel that the team are ready to go.

“I think although we won on Tuesday, the performance could have still been better.

“But winning games definitely helps with boosting the team up especially when having to travel to Gold Coast on a Tuesday night.

“The girls are excited to get back into it on Sunday and to continue developing our cohesion as a team.

“I myself have only been back for a short time and even in that time I feel like the group are starting to grow together.

“Unfortunately we don’t have time on our side to learn exactly how each other play and we need that to come together sooner rather than later but the girls are working hard at training to speed up that connection we have amongst the group.”
