PREVIEW

After a month long COVID enforced hiatus Olympic return to action with a clash against Gold Coast Knights at Goodwin Park on Sunday evening (6pm KO).

Olympic will look to make it three NPL Queensland victories on the bounce against Knights in a rematch of last year’s Semi Final.

Despite currently sitting fifth, Olympic are unbeaten in their last twelve league matches and have kept a competition high nine clean sheets this season.

If Olympic attacker, Daniel Leck can add to his 16 goals so far this season against second placed Knights he will have scored against every NPL Queensland opponent he’s faced as an Olympic player during his two seasons at the club.

LAST TIME WE MET

Olympic handed Knights their first ever home NPL Queensland defeat with a 2-0 victory at the Croatian Sports Centre when the sides faced each other earlier this season.

Shannon Brady and Costa Psaros were on target for Olympic with a pair of sublime goals in an impressive performance on the road.

WHAT WAS SAID – Club Captain: Steve Whyte

“We’re really excited, we’ve had a couple of weeks off now, so the boys are itching to get back into it and we’re looking forward to putting in a big performance at home on Sunday.

“We’ve got such a good environment and culture within our team here, everyone’s buzzing to be back in and we’re ready to go ahead of Sunday.

“Playing at home in front of our support is always a boost and it lifts the boys, we’re feeling refreshed after the break and are ready to hit some form heading towards finals.”
