Olympic FC are delighted to confirm live-wire attacker Jez Lofthouse has re-signed for the 2020 NPL Queensland season.
The 20-year-old, who signs on for a third season in red and white has been a hit at Goodwin Park, grabbing 28 goals and 26 assists in 68 Olympic FC appearances.
Two standout campaigns saw Lofthouse named in both the 2018 & 2019 NPL Queensland Teams of the Season.
The winger also picked up the competitions Young Player of the Year award in 2018 and has been named on a four man shortlist for the 2019 trophy which is set to be presented at the Football Queensland Awards night on Saturday evening.
The 2018 Olympic FC Golden Boot winner said signing on at Olympic for another season was a no-brainer.
“There was no doubt in my mind, I love the staff here, I love the players, I love the environment. There’s no club in Queensland that comes close to it for me,” Lofthouse said.
“I’m super keen to get back into it with all the boys, we’re looking forward to a big pre-season and aiming to go one better than last year.
“It’s a really good group with basically everyone coming back, I can’t wait to get going again.”
The youngster added he couldn’t wait to be back out playing in front of the Olympic supporters.
“We had another great season this year, and we couldn’t do it without the fans here, it’s like having an extra player on the pitch and I look forward to another year with the best support in the league.”
Olympic FC Head Coach Ben Cahn said he was delighted to have secured to services of Lofthouse for another season.
“It’s great to have Jezzy staying with us, he’s been one of the best players in the league over the last two years and he’s very important to how we want to play.”
“This will be a big year for him, despite being only 20 he’s one of our big players now.
“With a few of our more experienced players moving on it gives him along with others the chance to step up and fill the void,” Cahn said
