Olympic Football Club are excited to confirm the signing of former Junior Matilda, India Kubin ahead of the 2021 NPLW Queensland season.
The 19-year-old arrives at Goodwin Park from Capalaba where she played primarily as a fullback, making 17 appearances that included one goal and two assists in 2020.
Kubin has plenty of experience playing further up the park, having played in attack for the Brisbane Roar NTC side in 2019 as well as Junior Matilda sides in her younger years.
Kubin represented Australia at the AFC U16 Women’s Championship qualifiers in Vietnam in 2016, coming home with eight goals to her name as the team took maximum points and qualified thanks to victories over Palestine, Hong Kong, Iraq, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
Kubin is the ninth confirmed signing for Danny Byrne’s squad ahead of Olympic’s NPLW return and joins Teani Karalouka as the second player to make the move to Goodwin Park from Capalaba this off season.
The Queensland junior representative said she was looking forward to continuing her development in red and white in 2021.
“I’m excited to play for an amazing Coach in Danny (Byrne) and with some great players as well,” Kubin said.
“I’m looking to improve myself as a player and to be better than I was last season, I think this is the right environment for me to do that.”
Olympic will begin their pre-season in early January ahead of the expected NPLW kick off in March.
