Kazuya Ito will make his 150th Olympic FC NPL Queensland appearance in Sunday’s round six clash against Brisbane Roar Youth at Goodwin Park (6pm KO).
Ito who is in his eighth season in red and white is the club’s record NPL Queensland appearance holder.
The versatile Japanese maestro was part of the side that won the NPL Queensland Grand Final and Premiership in 2013 and is the only player to have appeared in all five of Olympic’s FFA Cup national round fixtures.
The 33-year-old, who has 13 NPL Queensland goals to his name said he remains as hungry as ever for success at Olympic.
“There are lots of good memories for me here and some bad ones too, I’ve got to play in lots of big games – Grand Finals, and FFA Cup matches playing in front of big crowds, the supporters have always been great to me.”
“I’m proud to have been here so long, but to have just one Grand Final and Premiership trophy is not good enough for me, I want to win more,” Ito said.
Ito added his sole focus ahead of Sunday’s milestone match was collecting three points.
“For me Sunday is just another game, last weekend we put in a good performance (against Moreton Bay) we’re just looking to build on that.”
“This year we have a good balance of young and experienced players, we’re just focused on getting a win this weekend and then we’ll go from there.”
