ALL FOOTBALL IN QUEENSLAND SUSPENDED UNTIL JULY 1.

OLYMPIC FC CLUB STATEMENT: MARCH 20

Dear Olympic Family,

I hope that you, your family and friends have been well,

Football Queensland and Football Brisbane with the FFA have released a series of statements to the football community over the last week regarding Covid-19.

As you would all be aware, all organised grassroots and local club and association activities (including training) have been nationally suspended until the 14th of April.

Olympic FC will use the period of suspension to further consult with other clubs and our member associations (FB and FQ), health experts, government and the FFA’s national framework.

At the right time we are committed to resume football in managed and coordinated competitions and will seek to put measures in place to achieve this, subject to clearance to do so.

It is important at this time of uncertainty, that we do not place added pressure on Olympic FC administrators and staff, who together with Olympic FC executive are working through the ramifications of the suspension of competitions. We are all working in unison to manage matters to ensure the long term sustainability of the game at Olympic FC.

We have faith in Football Queensland and Football Brisbane in modelling various scenarios regarding the effects of the competitions suspension- particularly the direct impact on our staff, players, parents, club officials, volunteers and the broader football community and will keep all stakeholders informed of further developments.

Staying united in our approach will ensure that we are best placed to navigate our way through the uncertainties and complexities on these uncertain times.

Kind Regards,
Peter Ioannidis
President, Olympic FC
